Dear full-time, part-time, and seasonal resident members:
Since our founding in November 2023, the SGBJC has grown into an active, engaged, and connected community. Through programming, advocacy, and shared experiences, we are building a strong and visible Jewish presence in Southern Georgian Bay.
Our Vision
Our vision is to advance and promote an exceptional quality of Jewish life here in the Southern Georgian Bay Area and we are proud of what we’ve accomplished—from community gatherings and educational events to meaningful advocacy and regional recognition.
Including: multiple films, speakers, discussions and social gatherings; having the regional City Councils adopt the IHRA definition of Antisemitism; and installing illuminated menorahs in Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, and Thornbury. We are hoping to add one in Stayner this fall.
Jewish Heritage Month this May further reflects that momentum
May 2 – Children’s Program & Shabbat Luncheon
May 3–9 – Clock Tower Illumination (Blue for Jewish Heritage Month)
May 5 – Jewish Heritage Month Flag Raising & Proclamation
May 20 – Speaker Event with Holocaust survivor Nate Leipciger
